Paris Art Week 2026: Nocturnal Kick-Off and 5 Galleries to Check
Paris Art Week (October 19–25, 2026) kicked off on Monday evening with the third Matignon Saint-Honoré nocturne, and we were there. 38 galleries around Avenue Matignon and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré opened their doors from 5 to 9 pm, the district was partly closed to traffic, and the street itself turned into a stage: performances took place at the crossroads of Avenue Matignon and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and in front of Christie's, where performers in masks and costumes paid tribute to Sophie Taeuber-Arp. The week builds up to Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais (public days October 23–25). If you missed the opening night, here are the five galleries on Avenue Matignon we would send you to this week. To find your way through the open galleries during the week, check out the map.

This year's godfather was decorator Jacques Grange, who picked ten works across the galleries and flagged them with macarons along the route — Picasso, Miró, Keith Haring, Giacometti and Lee Krasner are among the artists he chose. The evening is one of Art Basel Paris's partner events.
Perrotin Matignon
8th arrondissement, Avenue Matignon
During Paris Art Week, Galerie Perrotin stages its flagship group exhibition PANORAMA at Perrotin Matignon: the gallery features 26 artists from its roster, such as Hernan Bas, Sophie Calle, Maurizio Cattelan and Jean-Michel Othoniel. We particularly liked the three pieces below.

Strouk
8th arrondissement, Avenue Matignon
Strouk presents Good Vibrations, a solo exhibition by French painter Robert Combas, with 2026 works that are mostly acrylic on canvas or mixed media on paper. We saw it on opening night, and the vivid colors and thick outlines are hard to miss.

Skarstedt
8th arrondissement, Avenue Matignon
Skarstedt pairs two giants of the 20th century — sculptor Alberto Giacometti and Surrealist painter Yves Tanguy — in Solitude and Silence. A fitting stop after an evening that put Giacometti among Jacques Grange's favorite works.

Galerie Lelong & Co.
8th arrondissement, Avenue Matignon
Galerie Lelong's Matignon space presents Théâtre imaginaire, a solo exhibition by painter Magnus Plessen. The gallery also has a second Paris space on Rue de Téhéran, where other shows are on view. We particularly liked the pieces we saw here.

A&R Fleury
8th arrondissement, Avenue Matignon
A&R Fleury took part in the nocturne with Sam Francis: I paint time (“Je peins le temps”), a solo exhibition devoted to the American painter.

Bonus tip
Dates and hours can change, and most galleries are closed on Sundays, so check each gallery's website before you go. Avenue Matignon sits right by the Champs-Élysées — see our Champs-Élysées & Triangle d'Or guide for more to explore nearby.
